EXECUTING AN (OBLIGATORY) WALK TEST

(as an extra user or manager)

As an extra user or manager, you can test the operation of the alarm system yourself by putting the system

into test mode. The system then expects you to take a certain route whereby the various detectors should

be triggered. The panel will keep up to date and when all the zones have been tested, the message ‘All

Tested’ will appear in the display, followed by the message ‘Walk Test Pass’. While zones remain to be

tested, they appear after one another in the display. If you abort the test, ‘Walk Test Fail’ appears in the

display.

Whether a walk test resulted in a pass or fail is recorded in the engineer log and can be reported over the

phone lines.

If you wish, your installer will specify which zones must be tested and whether the test is obligatory and

must be carried out at specific intervals.

If the walk test is obligatory, the message ‘Walk Test Required!’ appears in the display after you have

entered your code for that system. Then go to ‘Chime/Test menu’ and carry out the whole test.

You will not be able to arm the system until this test has been completed. The installer can also program

whether this obligatory walk test is necessary at:

- every arming;

- the first arming of the day;

- the first arming of the week;

- the first arming of the month.

Use the ‘ââ‘ to move to ‘Chime/Test menu’.

Press the accept key to start this test.

There now appears a list of the zones to be tested to

complete the walk test

one another in the display

Once all the zones have been tested ‘All tested’ is

displayed

4. Press accept to finish the test.

To finish the test before all the zones have been tested,

press the ‘X’ key. The message ‘Abort test?’ appears.

Confirm that you want to finish the walk test by pressing the

accept key. The message ‘Walk Test Fail’ appears.
